Chase Countryman has a strong history in computer science with formal training at both University of Central Florida and Valencia College. He has worked with computers configuring both software and hardware for over 8 years. Though he now mostly oversees operations, his true passion is for computers and he is often found tinkering with our builds. "CCountryEmpire" is Chase's online handle. He began with old classics on his father's computer, and has since then played most major titles. His favorite selection is the Age of Empires series. Many hundreds of hours have gone into managing his kingdoms.
I saw a need at UCF: Tons of friends and peers who were interested in gaming but who just had basic laptops for school. I knew what needed to be done. I started scraping together the cheapest capable gaming rigs I could, and selling them at the lowest price I could. I realized I could grow to serve the entire Orlando area. Dauntless quickly rose to compete with the two main competitors in the Central Florida area. I hope to see us providing expertly crafted machines to the entire state, or even the US.

In the early days of Dauntless, Chase made his initial sales because of his uncanny ability to find extraordinary parts at great prices. Sometimes, this meant taking risks with smaller brands that produce the same quality parts without slapping a fee for a brand name. Over the years, he has taken this passion for buying from the unknown companies and incorporated it into his own build. While his build clearly has the need for speed (with his name brand CPU and GPU), much of the rest of his build features smaller companies. Here we find a full-custom cooling loop including an XSPC Raystorm CPU block and a custom cooled GTX 1080 with the XSPC Razor Waterblock over it. Stress test temperatures cap at 60C on the GPU and at 53C on the CPU.

Chase’s peripherals also show his need for the “art of the deal”. A conglomeration of companies both large and small make up his collection. While he uses the famous Logitech G700s mouse and ASUS mousepad, he also uses a Perixx gaming keyboard that features the old MX Black keys, Chase’s favorite switch. He uses a pair of relatively unknown headphones, the SA-903 from the SADES brand. Also on his desk you will find a Logitech Z313 Speaker System. For visuals, Chase aimed for another smaller company: AOC. After selling his ASUS 24" monitor to a professional gamer in immediate need, Chase looked to find a great deal on a 27" AOC BrightScreen monitor. Right next to that is his 32" 1080P Insignia TV to stream Twitch even while in-game. All in all, his collection may not feature big brands, but his full assortment of peripherals shows that you do not have to break the budget to get what you need.
